Hi Im booked in to have breast reconstruction in June, they will be using silicone, Ive had a double mastectomy,so they are doing both boobs,I have very bad scaring on the left side after the mastectomy, and it feels very tight,
As June is approaching I am getting really worried,How bad is the pain after the Op ?? just need to prepare myself, I didn't have any pain after mastectomy, I think they are going under the muscle,as I have not got much skin, what have I got to expect ???

No experience myself, but bumping for you, as I know lots of people do.
You might want to ask MNHQ to move your thread to somewhere a bit more trafficky maybe general health or chat?
Hope it goes well for you. My only suggestion is to find out if there's a specialist nurse attached to your surgeon who might be able to answer questions.

Since you posted it in "What would you do" ... I wouldn't get a reconstruction.

Have you weighed the pros and cons, or did you just get that reconstruction booked because it's what people do?

No experience myself, either, but I think it is guaranteed that the pain with surgery will be worse than if you just do nothing. And personally, I avoid things that cause pain if they aren't necessary for my survival.
