< sighs>I thought they made a lovely couple.

I assume he's left her for Fassbender Blush

FannyFifer · 14/05/2016 00:00

Yaaaaaaas he's single, at last my time has come.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 14/05/2016 00:00

But if not or especially if so, I'm able and willing to comfort him

IPityThePontipines · 14/05/2016 00:03

Refuse to watch anything with James McAvoy in it. I'm sure he's also a talented actor but he irritates me beyond belief. More than Noel Edmonds, and believe me, that's saying something!

Me too! It's such a relief to find I'm not alone. I find him hideously mannered as an actor.

Corialanusburt · 14/05/2016 00:07

I was surprised they got together and every time I saw pics of them together the idea of him cheating came into my head.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 14/05/2016 00:08

He was brilliant in Filth and makes a fantastic young Charles Xavier, so boo to you 😝

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 14/05/2016 00:13

Peace I was thinking Jude Law too! Was quite taken with the image of him and McAvoy together Blush Grin

squoosh · 14/05/2016 00:15

Why Corialanus? Do you think he was too good looking for her? To me he is the plainest of blokes.

stareatthetvscreen · 14/05/2016 01:04

noooo he's gorge

MargotLovedTom · 14/05/2016 08:55

Plain?! Get out of town! He's bloody beautiful, and he's also a fantastic actor - not mannered at all Angry Wink. His Robbie in Atonement is such a moving portrayal.

Thunderbumsmum · 14/05/2016 09:45

I met Anne Marie Duff once, she was really nice

DiggersRest · 14/05/2016 09:49

I saw the briefest clip of Norto last night and thought he's besotted with JL.

Arsehole. I used to really like him. Why cant celebrities stay married/faithful.

annandale · 14/05/2016 10:02

Agree mcdiggers but tbf it must be bloody difficult sometimes. A week ago I had physio from a healthy young man and my hormones have been all over the place ever since Blush if I were as gorge as James mcavoy and spending large chunks of the day with nubile youngsters - it would be tricky. Sometimes it helps to be safely plain.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 14/05/2016 10:04

I similar on another thread but JM comes across as a flirty person in general. He's been like that with other costars, so I don't think the split is due to JL, as much as I dislike her maybe this is wishful thinking. He flirted with Fassbender easily as much as with JL now there's a fine couple in the making of ever I saw one

SwedishEdith · 14/05/2016 10:18

Agree, agree, agree. He's not that great looking, he's just been Hollywoodified. But I don't warm to her either when I've seen her interviewed - takes herself very seriously

YellowShockedFace · 14/05/2016 10:21

I loved them as a couple in shameless years ago. They had a real chemistry so it's a shame they have split.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 14/05/2016 10:26

Nah, he's always been knock out good looking, ever since back in the days of Shameless and Early Doors. He has the most stunning blue eyes. But each to their own in terms of looks, I guess. I've never understood the attraction of Brad Pitt or George Clooney but women seem to swoon over them Confused

I have to respectfully disagree about his acting, though. I don't know if you've seen the films I mentioned above but I think he's great in them, particularly Filth; he was outstanding in that. But again, each to their own. I've never rated Lawrence at all but others seem to love her acting

TheSpottedZebra · 14/05/2016 10:34

I know that his makes me incredibly shallow, but I went off him when he started to wear built - up shoes.

Mate, we know you're short - it's fine ( Exhibit A - Oscar Isaac ). But the heels fool no one and make you look insecure. Still, at least he can stand straight better in them than Robert Downey Junior, whose shoes have reaches bonkers levels of heel and as a result he looms like he's auditioning for that Michael Jackson video where he stood on a slant.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 14/05/2016 10:38

Well I'm only 5'1'' so he'll be fine with me Wink

I can see how standing next to a lot of strappingly tall men might make you feel a bit shit as a shorter dude, though. Women wear heels all the time to make themselves taller so I don't really care if men do

TheSpottedZebra · 14/05/2016 10:43

I know it's very double standard-ed of me, but I do care Blush.
About the shoes.

squoosh · 14/05/2016 10:54

Built up shoes?

Ew, that makes him even more unattractive!

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 14/05/2016 10:59

Being short does has its advantages in that all men look super tall next to me Grin

He's always been far more attractive to me than the sorts usually touted as Hollywood totty. Keep your Channing Tatums, I'll have McAvoy any day of the week Wink

JingsAndCrivens · 14/05/2016 11:25

I know someone who used to go out with McAvoy. She doesn't look back fondly on their time together!

IPityThePontipines · 14/05/2016 12:26

Jings - you have to tell us more than that!

Chief - last time he was on GN, he had a good anecdote about a woman coming up to him and saying "You're on my list. Other women might prefer someone like Channing Tatum, but you're the one for me". Smile

I have never noticed RDJ's built up shoes. I bet they all wear them, except Bruno Mars:

James McAvoy and Anne Marie Duff have split

Yes I saw that, which is why I picked Tatum who looks like a potato I think the woman said something along the lines of him being an achievable goal, to which he replied she definitely wasn't getting any now Grin
