Hi, at the end of this week we will be traveling to Teignmouth for a long weekend. Should be great fun and I am sure there will be plenty to do. However if anyone has any suggestions please do let me know. Fingers crossed the weather holds out and no more storms or rain please!

There's plenty to do in Teignmouth and the surrounding area, what ages are your kids and what's your budget?

Jane

Thank you for the response. The kids are 8 and 7, both girls. Budget is limited it has been an expensive Easter so anything to do that has little cost would be ideal. Any ideas?

Thanks

If you want to get out on the water I can highly recommend these guys: www.seasports-sw.com/seasports-activities.php

Budget is always a limiting factor! There's plenty of play parks and a couple of local swimming pools - one an open air one - which might be bit cold! It's a shame there isn't some kind of website you could go to for all the affordable or council run activities in the area.

i would look up Teignmouth Oracle on facebook, they post about stuff going on all the time :)

The play park by the beach is really good and we love the pier too. Shaldon is nice, there is a small zoo there which sometimes has offers to get in.

You may also want to try an app called Kanna Explore - they have a bunch of stuff like play parks and swimming pools.

Teignmouth's lovely but you better hope the weather holds out! I often visit the council website for upcoming events, and details on local leisure facilities...etc. I've just tried the Kanna app that Jane suggested - seems to be pretty good and does have the local play areas...etc!

Thanks
Anna

Well we are off tomorrow and thank you all for your advise and suggestions. Shaldon is where we are staying so will check out the play park and pier. The play park is on the Kanna app, which by the way looks like it will be useful for the future trips out. Thanks!
