Which blog website do you use?

So I'm very very new to this but I really want to start a blog.

My first stumbling block is how do I set one up? Are there any websites or blog host thingys that you can recommend please?

It depends what you actually want to do with your blog (obviously write on it). Just write, make money, get free stuff...etc

I think wordpress is really user friendly for beginners. I've got a blogging tips section on my blog:

Wordpress hands down! Easy to use and lots of themes to choose from whatever your blog target is for. Also works well with plugins such as woocommerce or jigoshop if you want to sell stuff too! I'm a complete novice but built my Maison White site and blog with it.

I had started with Wordpress.com which offers free websites with lots of features but you are not able to download additional plug ins for things like the appearance of your blog and also search engine optimization.

I have just signed up for web hosting using site ground, about £50 for the year and downloaded wordpress onto that. It's much more flexible. I felt that after 6 months my site had outgrown the free option.
