To move or not to move?

WWYD? Stay in a large town miles away from family, or move to a smaller town within an hour of your entire family (some in that town)? We have a toddler.

I'd move. Any reasons why you shouldn't?

It would depend on house prices and what amenities were available. Have you considered what nursery schools/schools are in the different areas and how easy it would be to get out with your DC?

Of course it's always nice to live near family, especially if you want them to babysit so you might want to consider that as well. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I guess the main thing worrying us now is giving up a secure jobs, buying/selling houses. We would be moving to a much "nicer" part of the country, but if we move, we are not moving again if we can help it!

It depends on whether you like your family! How old are your parents?

Well I wouldn't move unless new jobs were already in place.

Of course we wouldn't move without sorting jobs first. Parents are late 50s. I know it is what I want. Think I am just worried about the huge task ahead of us.
