Thank you notes for party gifts when you don't know the giver

DS had a birthday party last weekend and he received some wonderful gifts but unfortunately some didn't have their cards attached so I have no idea who sent them.

What do I do? As it happens most of the ones in question (by process of illumination) are mostly likely from children who I don't know the parents very well (new recpetion class) so I feel awkward for asking. At the same time I feel bad thanking them for a nameless gift just in case they didn't give one. I also seem to have an extra gift so assume some one gave one per sibling.

Any advice please?

Thank you for coming to minipagety's party. He really enjoyed his day with all his friends and the lovely gifts.

You might want to add a note about what a pleasure it was to entertain such well behaved children. assuming they were.

Thank you. That side steps it nicely :)
