I'm blogging for diabetes awareness month about Type 1 Diabetes, an autoimmune disorder unrelated to diet or weight, that affects around 30,000 children in the UK. I didn't know much about it before my son was diagnosed, but luckily I knew enough to catch it before he died. It can develop quickly and lead to coma, organ failure and death.
