Some concert tickets have arrived for the previous owner (who left the house in the most disgusting state ever)

When we moved in our house earlier in the year, it was filthy. Eg. The kitchen cupboards were full of crumbs and sticky rings. The carpets hadn't been hovered so had thick dust patches from under where the furniture had been. And we had one lightbulb. It was easily the dirtiest house I've ever bought and moved into.

Anyway, I think their redirection service has expired as we've recently started to receive some post for them. I've been sending it all back as 'Not at this address'. But yesterday some concert tickets arrived. I opened them to assess the urgency and they're for the end of this month.

Ordinarily I'd not hesitate to try and get them to her directly, but I don't feel too kindly towards her for the state she left the house for us to move into. So do I send the tickets back to See Tickets or be the better person and ask the estate agents to contact her to come round and pick them up even though she doesn't deserve it ?

You shouldn't have opened the envelope in the first place. I would re-seal and scrawl 'Not at this address' and lob back into the nearest post box.

Chances are they might have got replacement tickets. Sometimes it's best to be the bigger person

at the state of the house being justification for illegally opening her post and then deliberately witholding it from her!

It's not illegal to open someone's post unless you open it with the intention of causing detriment to the person. This includes delaying post.

So you need to pass the tickets on. You should be the bigger person anyway.

I passed on a message through the estate agents and she said she would come round and get them. Twice she hasn't turned up when she said she would.

So it doesn't look like she'll get them anyway unless she catches us at home as we'll not be waiting in again.

I'd base my actions on whether I wanted to go and see the band or not.

She did get the tickets in time.

I'm glad I was the better person but I really hope karma exists. I've only recently discovered that the 'made to measure' blinds that I bought from her aren't the full drop of the window. So not made to measure after all.
