brand new goose down duvet stinks musty - is it a health risk?

I bought a goose down duvet from a company I have dealt with before. I bought the same product a few ears ago and it was perfect. But this time it stinks really musty, almost mildewy.

I've aired it for about 5 days now and tumble dried it to freshen it, but only the corners are slightly better smelling.

Is there any danger associated with this, or is it a case of returning the item for health's sake?

Meant to say the company was a shape but now is a warehouse - which possibly explains the musty smell.

There isn't any visible sign of mildew but of course I have no idea what's going on inside the duvet.

I suppose I wondered if it's worth persevering or whether it's just not safe to allow kids to sleep in a duvet like this.

I haven't washed it as the label says dry clean only and I don't want to throw good money after bad.

The company wasn't a shape it was a shop!

Yes they're willing to refund but they don't have any more stock at the moment.

I didn't want to go to the bother of it wasn't necessary

If you really need it, I would take it to a good dry cleaners and they will be able to freshen it up. Bloody annoying though.
Give it a good airing outside after it has been dry cleaned.
