I might have messed up my ivf!

Help!
I'm currently in my 2ww on my first round of ivf and I'm worried I've messed up! I started bleeding yesterday evening and now really panicking that I'm going to get a negative test result.

We were prescribed utrogestan and have been using it rectally but just read through our notes and we're supposed to be using it vaginally. Have we ruined our chances of getting a positive?

Any advice would be really helpful!

Thanks x

I suggest you take a look at the research on the efficacy of progesterone suppositorys in IVF. Not everyone is prescribed them as not all professionals agree on their effectiveness and some believe all they do is potentially delay what would happen anyway. I was prescribed them, we went private but I was told that if we were on the NHS, they wouldn't have been prescribed (I don't know if this really is true though). I have a friend who wasn't prescribed them as her specialist was in the camp that they don't work. She also went private. Chances are though, if it doesn't work, it will have nothing to do with incorrect use of the progesterone so whatever happens, try not to attribute it to that.
