Hi. I moved from England to Northern Ireland 16 years ago when I met my (now) hubby. We now have 2 young children (aged 3 & 5), and we're hoping to move back to England. We can't afford to move back to the South East (where I'm from), but we've been thinking of moving to the North West (Liverpool / Manchester / Yorkshire / Cheshire or nearby). The problem is, we know nothing about this part of the country! Therefore, I'm looking for some suggestions as to where we might find affordable houses to buy, in a family-friendly area (e.g. decent schools, green space, family housing, things to do nearby, welcoming to new people in the area, OK public transport, low crime rates etc). There also needs to be reasonable job opportunities in the area (I'm in education, hubby does contract work in the the building industry). Any suggestions and reasons would be very gratefully received! Thanks ????
