What's that all about?!

I think it's about that stuff not getting sent to you straight away so they can send you more videos.

Things can take ages to show up in a person's feed, if they ever do, especially if they are just text.

Which is a shame, because the text posts are often the funniest or most interesting.

Do you all have 60 million 'friends'? Only I don't have the issues. Very little crops up I don't want to see and when it does I ask not to see it anymore. Bingo. No games, no boring stuff. Very few adds except down the side which I ignore. I don't have it to be 'cool' whoever said that. I'm not 12!
Gymbob if you hate it and don't use it, why do you have it?

Dragonglass · 25/07/2015 09:04

Honeysuckle you can view most recent on the android app by tapping the 3 bars on the top right of the screen. This brings up groups etc and you cab tap on most recent. Unfortunately you have to do this everytime as it doesn't stay on most recent.

GreyAndGoldInTheMeadow · 25/07/2015 09:05

Fb seem to want to make as un-user friendly as possible. So much random crap that I'm never going to be interested in while posts from pages I want to see no where to be found. I find myself scrolling through miles of X changed their profile picture, I DON'T FUCKING CARE I DON'T KNOW THESE PEOPLE! Just because one one of my friends liked it, it means jack shit to me. It's so irritating.

Dragonglass · 25/07/2015 09:25

I've also noticed that I get different posts on my phone and laptop. I usually use my laptop but when I look on my phone newsfeed I see lots of posts there are nowhere to be seen on my laptop newsfeed.

honeysucklejasmine · 25/07/2015 09:31

dragon thank you! Blush I'd been scrolling right past it on my way to "settings"!

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 25/07/2015 10:08

YY to the random posts from friends of friends burying the updates from people I actually know and am interested in - it's definitely the most offputting development in a long history of them. Are they actively trying to stop people using it? I'm not sure it's crap security settings, as it's happened across the board, even for friends I know are very aware of privacy issues. I don't seem to be able to deactivate though, much as I'm tempted, it keeps pulling me back in...

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 25/07/2015 20:42

Isn't there somewhere where you can pick and choose your notifications? I managed to stop anything to do with those bloody game requests.

FuryFowler · 25/07/2015 21:49

I keep getting notifications about top posts in groups I'm a member of. Even if I've turned the group notifications off. I don't care about the top posts!

Gymbob · 25/07/2015 22:41

cardi I use it to keep an eye on the kids. have a fdd and unfortunately, she is quite inappropriate Shock quite a lot

Sallyingforth · 25/07/2015 23:02

did you know
mn has a fb topic?

Apparently no. I wish MNHQ would advertise it more clearly.

Daisychain5 · 25/07/2015 23:21

I hate the Facebook snobs around that seem to think they're better human beings if they don't use Facebook. I use it, I like it mostly, I don't give a shiny shit if someone else doesn't use it, doesn't bother me in the slightest. My sister hops on and off, sometimes spending a few weeks off it. She always seems to feel the need to tell me that she's 'not posting at the moment'.....she 'feels it's sometimes too intrusive' 'she's sure she'll go back on in a few weeks' and to 'bear with her'......I DON'T CARE! Use it or don't use it, I couldn't care less!

RachelWatts · 25/07/2015 23:26

There's an FB topic? Where?

And FB is really random...

Sallyingforth · 26/07/2015 11:48

Facebook topic:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/facebook

purpler · 26/07/2015 12:02

Im fed up seeing photos of people I have no clue about just because a friend has liked it. I am seriously considering chucking it

IonaMumsnet · 26/07/2015 13:08

Afternoon all. There is indeed a Facebook topic. As this doesn't strictly speaking seem to be an AIBU, we're going to move this over to the FB topic in a moment.

Mintyy · 26/07/2015 14:20

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Oh the irony Iona.

GreyAndGoldInTheMeadow · 26/07/2015 14:33

Seriously? Hmm someone's got too much time on their hands to be reporting things like this.

tomatodizzymum · 26/07/2015 14:45

Seriously WTF? I was just reading, what I thought were the latest posts and then the whole shebang changed! Can someone tell me what to do to stop facebook messing with my head?

No this is an AIBU if there ever was one.

Mintyy · 26/07/2015 14:55

It is an aibu because I wanted to see if it was just me who has this, or was I imagining it.

If I weren't busy getting ready for my holiday I would now make it my mission to report every single non-aibu AIBU for the past week.
