Elderly neighbour

My elderly neighbour stopped me in the street today and told me how miserable she was, I said I'd see if I can find anything on the internet that may help and she was so grateful but I'm struggling already as I don't know too much detail. Basically she has her 34 year old son living at home with her with depression and anxiety and he locks himself in his room and comes down for food once a day. He won't answer the door or phone, claim any benefits or leave the house to help himself. Her husband (stepfather) is very negative about him and just upsets her by saying it's about time he paid his way. But won't help her. I don't want to share her problems but I do want to help. She said no family will help her, she has contacted social services, citizens advice and some other organisations I can't remember but they said he needs to help himself aswell, which she achnowledges but he refuses. I didn't even know her son lived there! I don't know the causes for his depression or his history, but I'd like to help her. If anybody has any suggestions, numbers or organisations she can contact i will pass them on. Thankyou
