Childcare dilemma

I am having problems finding childcare for my DS who starts a year of pre-school in Trinity Edinburgh from Sept 2015. He has been at a private nursery doing 2 full and a half days a week and will continue this until he starts pre-school. We have deferred his start date for primary school so he will be 4.5 yrs when he starts preschool. He will attend from 8.45am to 12.15pm Mon-Fri. I need to find a childminder or possibly a nanny for two afternoons who will be able to pick him up and look after him till around 5pm. I also have a DD who attends same private nursery on same days as DS and I plan to alter her nursery hours to be in line with whatever childcare provision I manage to work out for DS. So far I have not been able to find any childminders who have capacity in my area and I'm not sure where to look or do next. Some thoughts are employing a nanny part time for both my DS and DD but not sure how easy that person will be to find and I also often work from home. Any tips / advice / useful online forums would be very much appreciated! many thanks

Could you consider an Aupair instead?

Hadn't thought of that as we don't have the space at home, however an au pair share could work if they stayed elsewhere. Thanks
