Szechechenyi baths- brilliant.
If you are there in August then Sziget festival.

I love Budapest! Depends on time of year but Magrit island is gorgeous, as is Szechenyi baths. Also the Terror Museum is very moving, as are the boots at the side of the Danube.

Go to the castle district to walk around and great views over the city. Go to Parliament square see the memorial to the uprising and then walk down the river towards the centre (don't forget to see their holocaust memorial on the river, very moving) Afternoon tea and cake in the New York Café which is just beautiful, Heroes square and I can't remember the resteraunt up there but it is very nice.

If you can squeeze in a trip to the baths then that would be good, Gellert Hotel has beautiful baths and is very good for access to everywhere.

Yes yes to the terror museum.

Public transport is good plentiful and efficient so easy to get around.

Magrit island has the best mojitos. Also big spa water pools at regulated temperatures, hydrotherapy areas and a lazy river. And slides if that's your thing. If you go there it's nice to go by boat as you get to see a lot of the sights.
