clothes for birthday present

DD had her birthday party last weekend
one friend bought her some clothes but they don't fit at all. no gift receipt or any message saying "let me know if they don't fit" etc...

WWYD? seems rude to tell the mum they don't fit, just accept the present graciously etc... but OTOH hate to see them go to waste.

the jeans are M&S so yes, but the top is H&M and the tag is ripped so probably not so easy. What do i say to her if she asks weeks down the line? it is so strange (to me) not to give a gift receipt with something like this!

I wouldn't say anything. Try an in store swap or re gift.

Ok thanks I won't say anything... Slightly wondering if the top at least is a re-gift, really big!

I'd try and exchange the jeans. If the top is currently really big - she'll grow into it,no?
I wouldn't say anything but yea it is odd not to include receipt :)

My relatives always tear the labels off my kids xmas presents and don't give the receipts, very frustrating. It could possibly be sale purchases so it might be a bit embarrassing going to the store (voice of experience here! )
