Hen Nights - difference in opinion on how "useful" they should be....

What sort of gifts do we give the bride-to-be?

Difference of opinion between 2 bridesmaids. Our friend getting married is a game old bird. We've collected money for a gift. I want to go along the more tasteful "marital aid" route, as I strongly suspect she'd make full use of it. Other bridesmaid wants some jokey stuff and a bottle of perfume......

I can see her point of view but think that there really aren't that many opportunites to spend a fair chunk of money on something that might make your honeymoon extra special!

Any thoughts?

Gifts for the bride-to-be on the hen night? Is that an actual thing now then?

I thought you just bought some comedy stuff, more for a laugh during the event than giving a present.

Is this in addition to the wedding present?

Seems so! 12 of us have put A tenner in - which is a good chunck of cash...

So is it for hen night gifts or the wedding present?

In my experience the money chipped in is usually for stuff for everyone on the night, tshirts, fancy dress bits, etc. Are you sure it's just for the bride?
