Hello all, this is my first post on WWYD so please be gentle!
A care assistant I know takes drugs. Valium, mkat and amphetamines routinely every weekend. I know this as a matter of fact. To go into detail would "out" me, but it's a recorded fact admitted by the person in question and documented on a court document.
On the care assistants CRB check there are also offenses that are now classed as spent but they include drug dealing to minors and arson. Again, this is not gossip this is fact.
There was also a court case brought against the person in relation to financial abuse of a vulnerable adult, however the case was dropped by the victim (a family member of the person). So I'm not sure if that is relevant.
The HCA hasn't been in her job role very long. She works at a care home specialising in dementia patients and routinely gives out medication.
It bothers me that this person is in a position to care for vulnerable patients. However, I'm not sure if I'm reading too much into this. Surely the care home have seen the person's CRB check? They may not know of the drug use but is it relevant to her career if it's not impacting on it?
So WWYD? Report or not? Any thoughts appreciated.
