DS who is 8 loves buses and wants to go to London because he has been watching you tube videos of London buses. He's really difficult to buy for so for his Christmas present me and DP have decided to take him between Christmas and New Year for the first time. He's going to be really excited and we wanted to make it really special for him.

This Saturday my mum has asked to have him for the day and she's just told me she's planning on taking him to London for the day.

Do I let her take him or do I say no because it won't be as special when we take him for his present if he's already been?

If explain and ask her not to. Seems totally reasonable to me. She could take him in the new year? Or you could ask her to take him to some other exciting place so she gets some fun too.

I'd let her take him and take him also. Plan something they didn't do on your day there... London eye, aquarium, hamleys, theatre, Natural history museum etc. There is so much to see and do there and the more f William he becomes with our capital city the better.

Boysclothes · 21/10/2014 13:00

Familiar. Don't know what f William means but it seems a little rude.

Duck Tour. Nothing more special than a duck tour.

Transport museum in Covent Garden would be fab for him.

Yes let your DM take him, he can have fun twice!

Heels99 · 21/10/2014 13:04

Think duck tours are now not operating.

London' a big place. There's heaps to do so he won't have to repeat things. Take the 9 or 15 buses. They go past loads of good things and a number of them are old stylee routemasters. The London transport museum is great

LadySybilLikesCake · 21/10/2014 13:08

I wouldn't let her, sorry. London is a large place, but she's kind of taking your limelight, especially if this is his first time.

York has a transport museum, IIRC.
