Nature Notes Autumn 2014

We saw a pair of stags locking horns in the woods this afternoon. Fallow deer I think. Terribly noisy affair, all grunty and blowing hard.

We went to Brownsea Island in Dorset and saw red squirrels playing in the woodland and along with many other birds a giant white egret!

I saw a red kite near Craven Arms off the A49 on the weekend, gorgeous

We saw a Kingfisher, Kestrel, Heron and a few other birds to day at a local nature reserve; first time we've ever seen a Kingfisher. A couple in the hide had some brilliant bins so had a really good view
