Breakfast club dilemma

Ds has been going to breakfast club every day since starting reception in September. I am on maternity leave from October half term so I have not made any plans for him to continue going to the breakfast club after half term. He will probably need to start going to the club again this time next year when I'm back at work.

Problem is I feel really guilty as he absolutely loves going to the club in the mornings. I'm wondering if our finances could stretch to paying for one morning per week for the rest of the year, would it be unreasonable to send him to the club even though he doesn't need to be there?

Or would I be a horrible mummy to stop sending him because there's no point wasting money on childcare that we don't need?

I don't know what to do for the best here.

I pay for my ds to go to after school care one day a week even though I am not working at the moment. He loves it and I think it is good for him to go. It is opportunity for him to socialise and participate in activities.

If you can afford it and it is easy for you to get him to school at that time then I don't see anything wrong with it.

If you can afford it, I would.

It may also mean that you are priority when you need it more.

I waited nearly a year to get my 2 DC into breakfast club just for 1 morning. From July (last school year) I didn't think I would need it anymore but sent them anyway to keep them on the list. I was offered a f/t job recently & because they were already going to b/fast club they were priority to start full time.
