Self settling (kind of)

Can anyone please help!

My 12 week old is an angel at going to bed at 7, we dream feed at 10.30 with a nappy change. He wakes again between 2 and 3am for a feed (usually 4 ounces) and then goes until 6 but I make him wait until 7 for food.

He has been in his own cot since 6 weeks and has been put to bed at 7 and up again at 7 since then.

But for the past few nights he has had the 3am feed and then does not settle, the most rest bite I get until 7am is 1 hour, but usually it's a case of returning every 15 mins to reassure him.

He is not hungry, no wind, nappy ok, not unwell. Can go from screaming the house down to the biggest smile the moment his nursery door opens.

I am desperate for him to start sleeping through, he is not a big eater and has usually 4 ounces every 3 hours during the day. I always make more but he is sick if he takes more than this average. He is also a good weight 13,9 at 11 weeks.

I don't understand how he can self settle for the most part of the night but not this last stretch.

I know he can do it and just needs to get his sleep and food in the right order but hoping there is something I can do to speed this up?.

You are making a 12 week old wait an hour for food?

No making him wait an hour to get up for the day. He only takes 2ounces at 7am usually so hardly starving.

If your shitty one sentence comment is your only contribution then I'd rather hear from someone useful.

I was just questioning it, no judgement passed. How you view my post is entirely upto you Grin

Sounds typical for a 12 week old to me but then my ds didn't sleep through until 20 months.
Also you are following sids guidelines and having them in the same room as you when asleep thing. It's important until 6 months and 4 months is unfortunately a aids peak.
