Help! Putrid wheelie bin situation

So I dragged our garden waste bin through our terraced house back to our garden to do some 'fun' picking up leaves activity with dd3 this morning. I opened it and OH MY I've never smelt anything like it. I retched for 15 minutes. It's sat outside, lid down. 5 or so inches of murky ran water which might be covering I don't know, a corpse? What do I do? A) leave it til DH comes home B) deal with it. If B- how? Should I source a full forensic outfit?

There are companies that will come and clean it out for you

Make a hole in the bottom with a nail and a hammer, let the stinky water drain out and then wash it out with a bit of bleach.

Put one of these stickers on it?

When was it last emptied. Is it just garden waste or food waste too?
I am horribly fascinated, do you think there is a corpse?

Turn on its side and drain it. Rinse with hose. Then get Jeyes fluid or powder from a hardware shop. Sprinkle all round and inside. Leave, then rinse. Then put a tiny bit more in the bottom each time it gets emptied to keep the stench down.

I feel for you...my bin is the same sometimes....it is usually dead slugs that have crawled in there and died. (Well, alive ones crawled in obvs, then died). Rotting slug is like no other smell IMHO.
