The Pre-school bear has come home

Not sure if this is really the right place to post, but never mind.
DS has brought home the pre-school bear and it will be gracing us with its presence for a week.
Am I meant to wash it? It looks grubby and my first instinct is to chuck it in the washing machine before letting it anywhere near his bedroom but DH has said I shouldn't in case I ruin it.
I don't want to be the mum who ruined the bear, but don't want to be the mum who didn't wash the bear either!
Its clothes are already in the wash. They were filthy and I'd rather replace its whole wardrobe than let DS have it sit on his bed all icky.

To wash or not to wash?

I would. I got a right bollocking for giving it back dirty; the fact that it was minging when we got it and we were away on holiday for the whole half term was irrelevant, apparently...

We have washed school bear and the bear from rainbows. I am by no means a clean freak but the smell was awful.

Take a photo of bear in washing machine and dcs in bath with bear watching and say they all had a bath.

Put the bear in a net washing bag if you're worried about it but I always wash them. Particularly at pre-school age!

Our bear got taken by a dog in the park (and returned). Couldn't be bothered to wash it Hmm. I would wash it since no-one else will. Just tumble it when it's nearly dry to make it fluffy.

Thanks all.
He's gone in the machine on a quick wash to freshen him up. If he survives it, I'll risk the tumble dryer on a low heat.
If nothing else hopefully he'll smell a bit better!

I always washed the bear. DS always got it at the end of term! Probably to come to me for a wash before the next round of grubby children
