6 year old trying to organise date!

My 6 year-old has been going on and on about a boy 2 years older than her. She is constantly writing his name all over herself and writing letters to him (unsent so far) trying to organise a date on the local park. We have so far played it all down.
We really aren't of the nature to encourage this sort of behaviour, and don't know how to deal with it tbh. Had a Victorian upbringing!!
Really unsure what to do
Blind eye or guidance? And if so how do you guide? guess I'm worried about her being humiliated.

or you sure he's not her best friend? my 8 year old only plays with boys at school
comes from having an older brother

No, it's definitely coming from a 'boyfriend' position! Seems to be kind of okay, according to her. All the girls doing it. She isn't exposed to inappropriate pop videos. Just not sure how to handle it.

Don't make too much of it. But just say she won't be allowed to go to the park alone and meet somebody. Six does seem very young for this kind of 'crush' if that's what you would call it. If you're really worried you could consider telling her teacher. Or ask the other Mums if they've come across this. I expect a lot of them will just laugh it off. And maybe that's the best thing to do.
