THE meeting place for those smitten with Benedict Cumberbatch. As one of the members put it: Hump, limp and bad wig - but we'd still hit it.

Pile on in, there's always room for one more!

Oooh but think of the weeny teeny batch Babies. They will be adorable. Can't wait!

SciFiFan · 05/11/2014 20:58

So have felt strangely unsettled since I heard the news. I'm happily married so shouldn't feel affected but I do.

Anyhow, I hope he'll be really happy with her, he deserves someone who he loves and loves him back....and Cumberbabies will be really sweet.

FrankelandFilly · 05/11/2014 21:15

Oh, yes the beautiful Cumberbabies

Sudename · 05/11/2014 21:16

I share your feelings scififan
I'm a 40+ happily married woman not a lovestruck teen

Anyway I do hope he'll be happy - and yes he's going to be such a fab dad

SugarFinney · 05/11/2014 21:50

Have only just seen this, and so heard the news. I feel strangely deflated ... Not sure why it should make any difference, but it sort of does.

FrankelandFilly · 06/11/2014 10:23

Lovely interview from last night's Film 2014

RiverTam · 06/11/2014 10:34

that was very good, really excited about the film, it's going to be a gut-wrencher and no mistake.

Sudename · 06/11/2014 10:56

Lovely interview -can't wait to see film. Plan to go with dd and niece so we can cry together Sad

RiverTam · 06/11/2014 11:16

I'm going with my sister and maybe my mum and auntie - their cousin was at Bletchley Park .

Sudename · 06/11/2014 11:36

Cool RiverTam but she would have had to sign the official secrets act . Amazing people they were

RiverTam · 06/11/2014 11:48

I think it was sometime in the 90s they were then allowed to talk about it more, but she never did, and she's no longer with us to ask! I remember seeing her at some family do after I'd found this out and just thinking 'wow! You were a codebreaker!!' Though she may not actually have been.

FrankelandFilly · 06/11/2014 13:02

There have been stories of couples meeting during/just after the war and not finding out till 30/40 years later that they both worked at Bletchley! They've just opened a memorial in my local town to another code breaker, Bill Tutte. He designed the machine that broke the Lorenz code and his work is still used by the likes of Google, etc now, but sadly hardly anyone has heard of him.

HRHsherlockssextoy · 06/11/2014 15:35

Stages of grief, I'm at anger today

And listening to alanis morrisette.

Sudename · 06/11/2014 17:42

Ah jeez I posted where did it go?. Anyway feel a bit meh today not helped by the fact that dd has gone to Denmark for 8 days with school. I'll miss her Sad

HRHsherlockssextoy · 06/11/2014 18:40

I don't understand the other thread, about ben being engaged
where are all these cumberlovers?

Who do they think we are?! More the merrier on this page

I'm off to see frankenstein tonight.

FrankelandFilly · 06/11/2014 18:57

Enjoy HRH, is it reverse casting (BC as Creature)? That's the one I saw a few years ago. He's brilliant, as always Grin

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 06/11/2014 22:49

I was just at the cinema to see CreatureBatch over here in Germany. I am floored. Such amazing work, by all those involved. (Puts "Frankenstein" on Christmas wish list -the book, I know there is no DVD to buy).

And as much as my academic brain was spinning over all the levels the story reaches, my guttural self could not get past that flicking tongue that kept popping up. Oh. My. God. And I know I wasn't the only one thinking that.

I'm just back from Frankenstein too. BC as Frankenstein.
He did stride about quite a lot and, my, what big feet he has

Sudename · 06/11/2014 23:00

Tongue action

Just for you Needsagreencard. . .

HRHsherlockssextoy · 06/11/2014 23:16

I thought I was seeing jlm tonight. I thought he had large feet as well

I was wondering how much input have in their character, how much was him working it out. He must have been
N naked for a long time as well. Somebody had been working out....

I want to see jlm now to see how he deals with it

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 06/11/2014 23:21

Sudename! How the hell am I supposed to get any sleep tonight?!

SciFiFan · 07/11/2014 07:30

Another who went to see Frankenstein last night, BC as Creature. It was brilliant, amazing. I'm not surprised they won awards. I wish it was available on DVD.

Not his sexiest role Grin but it shows his talent as an actor, such a physical role.

Cumberlover76 · 07/11/2014 09:19

I wanted to go and see Frankenstein, but didn't manage to arrange. TIG it will have to be instead and I really want to see in the cinema. DH is keen to watch too so that's good.

I didn't really get the other thread either HRH. There must be many lurking Cumberlovers, a few have popped up on here since the engagement announcement.

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 07/11/2014 13:55

I could possibly go back on the 27th and see VictorBatch. Should I?

OP posts:
mkmjimmy · 07/11/2014 15:25

I am... Saw Frankenbatch last year and going to see Victorbatch this year. With different friends in a vain attempt to cover up my addiction. Husband has I think started to worry slightly about my slight obsession. His reaction to BC got engaged was 'to a woman?'. I don't think he's been paying attention.
