I really hope she is nicer than she seems, although we've seen very little of her.

Apparently they've been friends since 2009 when they worked together on Burlesque Fairytales. I'm thrilled for him, he's spoken widely about wanting marriage and children for many years and he's finally found someone he feels ready to do that with.

I've seen some complete overreactions on Twitter which are just unpleasant. It's not surprising they kept the relationship under wraps given some of the comments.

I didn't mean to be cynical; was just musing on how the press works and how much control Benedict and/or his 'people' might have over what makes it into the press and what doesn't.

I'm not criticising anyone on here, I know we're all relatively sane I've seen a couple of "fans" on Twitter tweeting that they can no longer be fans of his because he's got engaged, saying things like he's settling for her because he's almost 40 and that she's a snob/bitch etc.

It's a bit of a surreal day really. Having an opinion on something you don't have control over.

Feels like when roger Taylor got married and read about it in smash hits. Now we have Twitter.

oh, I was in Birmingham on the day Roger Taylor got married, it was so exciting! We hung about for ages trying to see them all. He wasn't my fave though, so I wasn't too fussed .

My reply was to River, Frankel, if you thought I took your post as a criticism. I really didn't. I haven't even looked on Twitter; I daren't. I can imagine the vitriol!
