Why do our notes have to be discussed at our scans with people who go in with us? do we not have a patient confidentially?

You took them in with you, that speaks to me like you gave permission for them to hear since your notes are discussed at scan appointments. If you don't want them to hear what is discussed at these appointments then tell the person you took in to leave. The appointment isn't just for the scan, Its for the whole consult.

By taking them with you, you are more or less saying it's fine I think

If you only want them to see the scan you should mention this when you first arrive

A scan isn't a jolly, it's a medical check. You choose to take someone to a medical check then that's tacit permission that you don't mind them hearing what's in your notes.

The staff aren't psychic, if you don't want someone to know certain information then you need to tell them or not take anyone into the scan.
