*Just moving to the area, which GP?*

Good morning to all you lovely Mums/Dads

My family and I are moving to Teddington in four weeks time. I am also new to this site. I wondered if I could ask your advice please? Would any of you recommend a particular GP practice please and why? We need to sign up!

If this is like our area there is no choice! You have to join the GP with the nearest postal code.

I lived in 2 places in UK. There were no choice. Last one has only 1 surgery unless you go privet. 1st one had several but they all were over"populated" so I ended up in one in which catchment area I lived. It was not the closest one. And not the one where it was convenient to get by public transportation. In the end it was better then the closest - a friend of mine was with it.

as for which GP - it depends on how the surgery runs the business. But most of it just assign you to the available one. If you're not happy you may try to get another one. I don't know if it would work. Couple of years ago it was different. On emergency you could walk in and get to the 1st available doctor. It was much better then now.
