I was born in London and till Christmas this year I loved it but now having a 6 year old and a 2 year old myself and my husband decided it was time to move and because of our jobs still being in London aka Newham and both having cars we decided Essex would be the best place to move to but after seven months of looking and researching we still have not moved due to every time we find somewhere and look it up there is not a lot of good about it or people are very happy to tell us how bad it is.
Please if anyone can help us we would be very much appreciated as all we dream of is our girls having the most amazing healthy childhood with lots of green around them where in London it seems like kids have lost that .
We have found a place called corringham and it seems lovely we have not been there yet but planning to go please could people let us know if they live or been there or of anywhere that would be rite for us where it's not to far from lakeside and no further then 50 min from London aka Newham and with good school and lovely people thank you for taking the time to help me by reading this my little girl is in year 2 in September and I feel like time is very short as I want her to at lest end year 2 in our new home and her new school many thanks nikki

Have you looked at South Ockendon, Averley, Langdon hills? There are all very nice areas.

Essex is lovely. What do you want to know? Born bred and proud.

Do you need car or train? London is easy travelling via both.

Do you want seaside lifestyle? Or quaint village? Or big town? How busy or quiet ?

Don't base moving on google reviews. That's nuts. Visit it.

Happy to help where can :)

Hi picklepest (love the name lol )

No not just been looking on internet have been looking out we was in love with aveley but schools was not very good and not loving how many pubs are along one road. I'm sure they get trouble on a weekend .

Looking where there is beauty aka lots of green fields but with two kids defo need to be close to things to do I have looked a langden hill sounds lovely just hard with the schools ....like to be close to beach so maybe no more then 15 to 20 min drive but with all the floods that keep happen don't really want to be anywhere where we. Would be hight risk as at the moment we live next to docks and to get house insurance is crazy money to the point we don't have it anymore and our car insurance is high in London so be nice for cheaper but in south ockendon there is a lot of car theft so that was a no .....being from London don't really want a big town and be nice to be 15 min or bit longer to lakeside as with two girls they always need something. Thank you so much for your help

Aveley Primary is OFSTED good.

wingcommandergallic · 02/08/2014 15:40

Try Hockley, Leigh, Horndon perhaps, Upminster, Hadleigh, Benfleet.

Chafford school in Rainham for Aveley is excellent. Both my dn's went there one still does. My eldest left last sept and got all a * and a's they was no one in her year who didn't get at get 3 a's some only got a-c grades buy still excellent in my view and they so get trips for older years. I've plenty of friends in south Ockendon and not one as mentioned about having they car nicked or know of people so wouldn't let that put you off
