I live in a large dorma bungalow with my hubby and two sons 4 and 9 months, what do you all think about mum and dad sleeping in the bedroom upstairs and the boys in a bedroom each down stairs please ? I feel terrible for even thinking about it....should I?

Why do you feel terrible?

Lots of people with town houses or loft rooms would sleep
On a different level to their children

Are there just the 3 bedrooms?

I personally wouldnt. Dcs downstairs and you upstairs makes it more risky for things like one if them opening a window during the night and esaping, or leaving their rooms and getting hurt or someone breaking in downstairs and the dcs waking before you are even aware. Also if they wake during the night and want to get to you they will try and climb the stairs. I would say all on the same level where possible until they are older. If that isnt possible then you and dh downstairs and dcs upstairs with stairgates on.

People who live in bungalows let their kids sleep in the ground floor...
I'm sure it's perfectly fine, and the most practical solution.
As long is the house is secure, you're fine. Also, I rented a dorma for 6 months, the upstairs room was really noisy in bad weather, and unbearably hot in warm weather. - you're kids will sleep better downstairs! Smile

We live in a bungalow and yes we all sleep downstairs but would have no worries about sleeping upstairs.
