Dog poo!

annoyedofnorwich · 26/07/2014 11:41

I live in a house which has a driveway that someone else has the right to walk over to get to their front door. They don't have a garden. They do have a dog.

Now I like dogs (although not this one at this particular point in time!), but I don't have one, although I would like one if my job allowed. So I get particularly cross when I end up having to pick up dog poo which the owner has left there.

Technically I don't think the dog should even be let out to poo on the driveway, as it isn't the neighbours drive- she just has the right to walk on it to her door. I have pointed this out to her, and said that I didn't mind the dog being out, as long as the poo was picked up, because frankly I don't want it on the pushchair wheels.

I have asked her nicely several times to pick up the dog poo, and after having a hissy fit (where she announced that the dog had 'walking rights' to the front door too- but presumably not shitting rights), she agreed that she would. However, she then buggered off on holiday, leaving a pile of poo in my gateway. She came back for a day (when the dog woke me up early and barked for 3 hours), then buggered off for a weekend away, leaving another pile of poo.

So, dear reader, what would you do? Pick up the poo and say nothing? Pick up the poo and raise hell? Pick up the poo and insert into her letterbox (or up her backside, the mood I'm in right now!) Call environmental health (would they even care?) Consult a solicitor re. the access rights including walking but excluding shitting? Or some other approach that I haven't yet thought of in my angry state?

(Disclaimer, yes I know I seem irrationally angry, I am, partly because of sleep deprivation because of a combination of a small baby and the neighbours sodding dog barking for 3 hours straight from 6am yesterday! So give me constructive solutions or sod off :) thank you muchly!)

I'm so angry it has played havoc with my apostrophes...

Letter box all the way for me... And yes I am a dog owner!

I would pick it up and plop it into her doorstep. That'll teach the cheeky cow.

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 26/07/2014 11:45

Don't post it in her letterbox. My neighbour got in trouble for doing that to a bellend who allowed his dog to shit all over our gardens.

I was half joking about the letterbox btw Grin

FoxSticks · 26/07/2014 11:50

I'd knock on her door and point it out every time you find a pile and if she is away pick it up and put it on her doorstep.

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 26/07/2014 11:51

Release your kids bare arsed. She how she likes it stepping over piles of kid shit.

annoyedofnorwich · 26/07/2014 11:55

I do have a horse... shall I get that to shit on her doorstep? Might be more impressively sized shit for making the point the kid shit! Just for more background info, I have previously picked up her dog shit and deposited it next to her door (when there were 5 piles and I lost patience dodging it!), but she never commented, just moved the piles. This was before I had 'the chat' with her about picking the damn stuff up! Maybe I need to be less polite and smear it on the doorstep rather than place it next to the door! Grrrr!

I would pick it up and leave it on her doorstep. Lots of little baggies full of shit. Maybe hang them on the do it handle.

I would prefer to leave it for her yo pick up but it's hard to ignore a pile of poo on your drive. I can't believe someone would behave like this, it's so bloody weird.

FoxSticks · 26/07/2014 12:06

She sounds like a right moo, when you say she moved it did she put it in the bin? It will be even worse when your little one is walking, and your having to scrape it off shoes.

Does she own or rent the place?

BeckyBusto · 26/07/2014 12:33

Get a spade.

Flick the shite at her garden/windows/doorstep.

annoyedofnorwich · 26/07/2014 13:25

I've just hung the latest bag on her door handle. You're right foxsticks! Yes she did bin (most) of it when I left a pile by her door. I am not looking forward to shoe scraping! She owns the house. If she put it up for sale I'd buy it to get shot of her!
Becky that's tempting... very tempting!

It's a shame she owns the place. Could you report her to the council? If she doesn't pick up the poo on your drive I bet she doesn't out and about either.

Do you need to bag the poo or could you just leave it about where her feet would land when she steps out in the morning?

annoyedofnorwich · 26/07/2014 14:05

I'm not sure who to report her to at the council but will look into it! Very tempting to leave it where she's likely to tread on it but not sure how well it would work as she has a sort of plastic grid on the floor outside the door, think it would mostly fall into it!

Sounds like a bastard to clean though Grin

annoyedofnorwich · 26/07/2014 15:37

Ha ha very good point! Although given her general approach, perhaps she wouldn't bother! Mmmm, shitty doormat!
