Someone wants me to friend her on FB- but her name is really common!

A friend from my past has asked if I'm on FB (which I am) as she'd like me to friend her. How do I find her? She has a very common name. I don't know if the every-day email address she uses is the same as that for her FB (mine isn't).

Can I send some sort of link to her detailing my FB account so she can make a friend request to me there?

Do you have any mutual friends? You can do an advanced search but she may not have registered where she lives.

Is facebook not clever enough to root out friends of friends of friends. People search for me and cant find me! (So they say :-p )
