Online tutoring...? :)

Hi

I'm looking to start tutoring my child, who is currently in Year 5, at home to help him with his school work.

Does anybody know of any online programs that are available to buy, that will provide me with a set of lesson plans that I can teach him at home?

Just a thought, but are you doing this on top of school work as it makes a difference to the advice you will gain I think.
Why not use the many free resources there are out there and why would you need lesson plans.
Does he have problems at school.

Yes it would be on top of school :)

He struggles at school and lacks confidence, so I want to give him a boost, but would rather do it myself than get a private tutor.

I wouldn't know where to start with things, which is why I was looking for a program to follow...

I think with him attending school as well you would be better off with short bursts of what he seems to struggle with and take it from there.
Our ds1 was like this and I didn't want him to see extra work as punishment.
Lots of educational games are fun and there are so many workbooks that are very user friendly that cover the NC.
I wouldn't go down the tutoring route in this situation as short bursts will build his confidence in no time.
Just 15 minutes or a page a day can make a huge difference.
As for planning, I didn't need any, honestly. I worked through the books and kept a record of anything needing more work, when something was consolidated, further action etc and this was enough.

I think it can be a bit different if you H.ed and they don't attend school as well, because you obviously have more time for relaxation and play.
I'm not suggesting you will do this but be aware of pushing too hard, as you say he lacks confidence and obviously this won't help.
Try Smiths and Waterstones poundshops M&S The Works and of course CGP direct online. They all have wonderful books covering all subjects you will need.
