Birthday gifts or not?

DS’s birthday was early March. DD’s 18th was mid March. We have friends who live abroad who we see once every 1 or 2 years. We used to do presents, friend always sent them 2 or 3 months after birthdays/Christmas. I gave up on presents about 3 yaers ago and friend someties sends them and sometimes doesn’t.
This morning a card with £30 in has arrived for DS, nothing for DD.
Friend’s DC’s birthdays are coming up and I planned on sending a card for them both with a token gift for her DC who will be 18 but what do I do now???
Do I send what I had planned to send or do more???

Just do what you'd planned. Giving gifts should not be based on what's received.
