Not necessarily his best looks HRH Grin.

Have to say I'm enjoying Parades End more second time around, it's all making much more sense. Just starting episode 4.

lovely pic, HRH and yep, I'm wibbling too Sudename.

finished Parade's End last night, it definitely picked up in the last couple of episodes and I think it'll be worth a rewatch, DH and I were a bit befuddled in some of it. I did experience a frisson when he took his shirt off, I must say (I hid it well, though my nostrils may have flared).

OnlyLovers · 07/04/2014 13:02

I'm here, HRH! I've been reading a bit about Richard III and wondering whether I can be bothered boning up on it and the other plays that'll be in this new BBC cycle.

Tam, I was spectacularly underwhelmed by Parade's End but wonder now whether I should watch it again.

HRHsherlockssextoy · 07/04/2014 13:05

In my mind, I look like Adelaide Clemens, that's in my mind, mind. But older.

I look quite a lot like Rebecca Hall in my dreams

RiverTam · 07/04/2014 14:31

underwhelming is about right. DH reckoned a lot must have been cut from the books. I'm not all that desperate about blond BC either (though shirtless rocks my boat whatever hue he's sporting).

Next up is Tinker Tailer which I did eventually buy in Oxfam - I have a slightly nasty feeling I'm not going to be that into it either Sad. I feel I may have to just accept that it's Sherlock or Khan for me, which is no great hardship, to be sure.

HRHsherlockssextoy · 07/04/2014 15:45

I love tinker Taylor. Very hard to follow though, not many women in it either.

I kept missing the bit about Peter guillim being gay, so how did they know.

May I suggest 'The Last enemy' then Tam if your fancy is tickled by khan?
BC plays an intellectual scientist and though he doesn't have the dark locks of Sherlock and khan, there is the cognitive attraction and LOTS of getting it on with his girlfriend. I found the storyline chopped around a bit but managed to stick with it Wink

OnlyLovers · 07/04/2014 15:47

I've read the books, for my sins, albeit a long time ago so I don't remember much. I do think there was a lot cut out, though. BC in PE is not my favourite look for him either, although he improves when he goes to the war and ditches the cotton wool in his cheeks Hmm.

I liked Tinker Tailor and rather enjoyed his look. Grin

RiverTam · 07/04/2014 16:12

yes, what was that with the cheeks - I thought something odd was going on there (think I might have read something about it on a previous thread). How can anyone even think of altering his cheeks??? Tis a travesty.

I've seen clips of the Last Enemy, and he does look hot, but isn't it all Very Very Sad?

HRHsherlockssextoy · 07/04/2014 16:15

BBC story about Richard III

I think one of these threads has covered it recently, yes. I can't remember now if it was a fat-suit type of thing or if they just felt Christopher Tietjens (sp?) should have a bit of a hamster face Grin.

The Last Enemy is very good. Good solid BBC drama. I can't remember the ending, but don't recall it being Very Very Sad all the way through. DISCLAIMER I do have a memory like a sieve

MrsMcEnroe · 07/04/2014 17:50

Finished watching The Last Enemy last week and it is VERY sad and bleak at the end.

It's all free to view on YouTube, hurrah! Wish I'd realised this before I bought the DVD..... You can also watch To the Ends of the Earth on YouTube, and Fortysomething, both featuring a much younger BC...

Sudename · 07/04/2014 18:16

Thanks Sude! Oh, that Frankenstein one brings back happy memories. The hair. The frock coat. The voice. The fricking powerhouse acting ... Smile he looks like a right yah in the blazer and jeans though

RiverTam · 07/04/2014 18:53

frock-coat-and-knee-high-boots BC is scrumptious!

Is this just normal YouTube or do you have to register or something? I hate registering on things, I have Internet Fear. (I also have a memory like a sieve, so with you there Only - I'll have forgotten everything that happened in PE by this time next week.)

piratecat · 07/04/2014 19:21

yes i remember talking about some sort of face cheek puffer uppers he used in Parades End, which seem to disappear towards the end when he's more slim (wartime).

I worried that cotton wool might pop out of the sides of his mouth at some point. :)

OnlyLovers · 07/04/2014 19:22

I watched The Last Enemy on YouTube for free and without having to register and over weeks, whenever DP was out but it was ages ago, so it might conceivably have changed since then.

piratecat · 07/04/2014 19:24

the jeans pic further evidence of dressing to the left! not that I've been noticing

OnlyLovers · 07/04/2014 19:37

pirate, I genuinely hadn't noticed but now I can't look away

Sudename · 07/04/2014 20:05

I have noticed that too ladies Grin
