You spoke my mind RiverTam. I checked my DVD and the unaired pilot is on there so I'm just about to settle down and watch it. Tight jeans here I come.....Grin pun intended Grin Grin

Sorry to stage an invasion, but I am assuming all you BC fans will also be aware of Andrew Scott? I have just booked DD and I tickets to see him in Birdland at the Royal Court in May. She is going to be sooooo excited.

Still a lot of tickets left if you're interested.

So wrong yet so right

hot

I heard Andrew yesterday on radio 1. Lovely he was.

piratecat · 01/03/2014 12:15

do you think Benedict has left the country for LA. I hate it when he's not here. :(

RiverTam · 01/03/2014 12:23

at the ripe old age of 42 I'm afraid I still have that teenaged mindset that smoking is cool Blush. Even more so when BC and Sherlock do it.

HRHsherlockssextoy · 01/03/2014 12:59

Yes, he's in LA. read today about him having a cutting for his spencer hart suit.

I know it's wrong about the smoking. I've never smoked, but it is sexy.

Sigh.

HRHsherlockssextoy · 01/03/2014 13:02

A suit fitting. Cutting. Now that would be extreme.

Hello mr cumberbatch, would you like me to warm the tape before I measure your inside leg?

Another career to apply for. Anyone want to volunteer for a job with Benedict?
His sherlock hairdresser?

CuttedUpPear · 01/03/2014 13:02

I met someone high up in the making of Sherlock last week.
They were chatting about all the actors on the show.
They said BC was a pain in the arse.

Sorry that's my only contribution to the thread!

ColinFirthsGirth · 01/03/2014 13:58

no no no! don't say that CuttedupPear! In fairness I can be a totaly pain in the arse too but I am still a nice person!

ColinFirthsGirth · 01/03/2014 14:02

CuttedupPear - did the person say in what way he was a pain in the arse?

In a few of his interviews he comes across and rather defensive and grumpy but we all have a less than perfect side. In most interviews he comes across as lovely.

RiverTam · 01/03/2014 15:19

well, given that this is the Benedict Cumberbatch Appreciation Society I'm not quite sure I understand why you posted that here, Cutted?

I know this is only sleb twaddle and not very important, but your post is just a bit odd. I have just gone through the entire 1000 message previous thread, and not once there did anyone feel the need to write something like that. Maybe ask for your message to be withdrawn?

Nobody thinks Benedict is perfect, though he certainly seems like a lovely bloke, but we're just about enjoying him and his films/TV etc and having some fun.

on a lighter note

LetUsPrey · 01/03/2014 15:25

TBH CuttedUpPear's post doesn't bother me. There have been occasional less than complimentary posts in some of the previous BC threads but hey ho.

He might be a massive diva to work with, he might not. From everything I've read about him and when he meets fans, he's never been anything other than charming.

Let's be honest, until unless I actually meet him and spend a lot of time with him - just to get a full and well-rounded opinion of him you understand - I'll never know so in my head he remains a perfectly lovely person Grin

HRHsherlockssextoy · 01/03/2014 15:43

We all have our moments don't we? I don't particularly care whether someone is a pain in the arse, really.

No pain no gain

RiverTam · 01/03/2014 16:00

at Prey getting a 'full and well-rounded opinion of him'.

I think my BC obsession is still in it's early phase so I'm feeling all sensitive. How very dare anyone slag him off! Tch, some people.

DH has some stories to tell about certain slebs who are venerated on MN but I wouldn't wander into their fan club to rain on anyone's parade! Especially as it's just his opinion at best, hearsay at worst.

ColinFirthsGirth · 01/03/2014 16:16

Yes we can never truly know a person from admiring them on tv and from interviews and their work. We also can't expect celebs to be perfect. I am certainly not perfect and I don't think anyone else is either.

Anyway it isn't like we are going to marry him is it! So I am going to carry on with my obsession.

CuttedUpPear · 01/03/2014 16:46

Hey I didn't mean you to get all weepy RiverTam Sad

I was just giving my tuppence worth. I wish that I had been able to find out more, but it would probably have looked like I was fishing for info to tell MNetters as everybody in the room had worked with him except me.

I just kept shtum and hoped for more info but none was forthcoming.
So I thought I'd report back with my little nugget!

It's not my opinion, just someone else's experience.
We are all pains in the arses at times I'm sure.

Grin at suggesting I get the comment deleted.

Cumberlover76 · 01/03/2014 17:52

I'd love to see him all stroppy and petulant! To be honest hearing something that makes him more of a real person just makes me love him more!

Anyway, I'm happy, after her 2nd birthday party dd just did her first poo I n her potty, now that's worth celebrating, more Wine yes please!

piratecat · 01/03/2014 18:16

yay for the potty poo!

Just found Frankenstein:A modern myth on 4od. Looks interesting with some aspect of the Danny Boyle production starring BC and J Lee Miller.

I expect BC has a right old stomp about when he's frustrated, iyswim Grin

RiverTam · 01/03/2014 18:42

yeah, you're right, just feeling rather coldy and tired and grumpy today - in fact, I'm probably being a complete pain in the arse I'm sure DD thinks so. Sorry, Cutted, complete bit of an over-reaction there.

excellent news on the poo front, Cumberlover76.

LetUsPrey · 01/03/2014 19:12

Great potty poo news!

Hopefully this might cheer you up RiverTam. I am looking forward to this film so much!

RiverTam · 01/03/2014 19:34

that's the ticket! I might actually try to see this one at the cinema - apart from my annual trips to see The Hobbit, and Harry Potter back in the day, we don't make it to the flicks much at all these days. I missed 12 Years, I know I really couldn't bear to watch it, my stomach for very gut-wrenching films these days is non-existent. (That was a good unintentional pun)

piratecat · 01/03/2014 20:12

when will The Imitation Game be released, does anyone know?

LetUsPrey · 01/03/2014 20:30

A quick Google tells me late 2014 but nothing else as far as I could see. IMDB says still in production.

Sherlockscheekbones · 01/03/2014 20:37

hello cumbers, sharp and chiselled here. I wrote to him once, still waiting for a reply.

I sent it to his actual address. Blush
