Hello, I also just joined mumsnet. I am a consultant child psychiatrist and mother of two. Training in child psychiatry helps parenting in some respects, but doesn't help at all in others! Find out how I fare on www.shrinkgrowskids.com. I'm keen to cover relevant children's mental health information in an accessible way. Not as an expert, as I believe most parents are the experts on their own children, but as someone who knows more than the average parent about what happens if things don't go quite right.

I'm a total blogging and technology novice (until 6 months ago I had a Nokia phone, and I still use a Filofax) having until recently been a Consultant in the NHS, so any advice on blogging would be really appreciated! For instance I don't even know how to put the mumsnet badge onto my sidebar rather than on the foot of a page...can anyone help?
