Areas to live in Farnham

Hi all,
I am new to the group. We live in the US and are in the process of moving back to the UK since our child starts in Reception this year. We found a house to buy in the North of Farnham. Near the Park and we're wondering what were your thoughts about the area? We hear a lot about the south of farnham as the place to go with kids because of school. Unfortunately the house we like sits in the north of town. When we search on ofstead we find some excellent catholic schools in the north but being unable to visit them makes it a difficult choice.

Should I keep away from the Upper Hale area or can we find good education there too?!

Thank you. I appreciate your thoughts!

I live in this area. I love it here. My DS1 just started Reception at a local infant school (rated Outstanding) and it seems really good. We got lucky as I had no idea about the school issues in the UK when we first moved here. I have heard that competition for school slots is much more fierce in the south Farnham area.

All the schools in Farnham are really good in my opinion. It's a lovely area.

Upper Hale school is excellent. The area (away from Sandy Hill Council Estate) is generally nice.

Thank you for your replies!

I hear a lot about this State. We will be in Nutshell lane. Is it close to Sandy Hill State? Is it a safe area?

Did you get to Folly Hill? I think it is the only outstanding one in the north. I would love to get into that too :-) let me know what you think of it and if your daughter likes it!
