Hi everyone. I am new here and would really appreciate some advise.
This is my story, I had a natural miscarriage nealy 4 weeks ago, at first i had what seemed to be a 'easy' loss, 4 days of bleeding and period like pains ( i was 5 weeks pregnant ) but then about a week later i started cramping again and it hasnt stopped, i am an emotinal wreck right now and worried that the pain may mean that there is still some baby left ( apart from the cramping i have no other symptons of infection ) i cant seem to find a straight answer to why this is happening so if anyone can help it would be welcome. thankyou x

Hi, what was the follow-up plan from the doctor for your miscarriage?
if there wasn't one - then please do a home pregnancy test straight away - if its still positive then telephone your nearest 'early pregnancy unit' - it could be retained tissue, or possibly an eptopic pregnancy.

Eptopic sounds so scary but these days if its found out early enough they can manage it with medication or (as in my case) 30% of the time the body will deal with it naturally and they will just monitor. It's when they don't know about it and aren't monitoring you that it can lead to internal bleeding etc.

if its negative it might still be worth seeing your GP. i'm sorry, i know this is stressful and scary.

Thankyou OnBoard for your reply. Thankfully since i posted things have progressed and I would like to update incase someone finds themselves in the same position. The morning after I posted I went to my gp, by now retained or ectopic pregnancy was racing through my mind and I was terrified, anyway the genocoligist said that because I had no fever or nasty smell downstairs it was very unlikely I had an infection but prescribed antibiotics 'just in case'. I left there as unsure as when I went in. I got home and sat in a warm bath for hours and when i got out my period came, I will never be able to explain but I felt instant relief not only from the pain ( though the period pain later on was bad but normal for me ) but my mind cleared, I actually laughed! the gloom I had been feeling for a month just lifted, maybe it was a hormone shift or maybe it was just because something normal was happening at last. This as been the most horrifing thing I have ever been put through and I send my sympathies and love to anyone out there going through it now or in the past xxxx
