People assume that anyone with a new baby (especially if that baby was planned and conceived via IVF etc.) must be constantly over the moon to be a new mum. This makes new mums feel very guilty when they are having a bad day and not enjoying being a mum. (admit it mums, we all have had those days). Just to reassure mums out there, being a parent is a hard often thankless task. DON'T feel guilty if you didn't enjoy every minute with your child, your normal. I would actively encourage all mums to have time away from their kids every week, it makes you a better parent when you are fulfilled in other areas of your life!
