Hi, I have had 2 premature babies my daughter born at 31 weeks in June in 1985 and my son born at 29 weeks in 1999. My daughter does not have any long term problems but my son now 14 has mild cerebral palsy on his right side and moderate learning disabilities and goes to a special needs school. My daughter who is 21 had her baby boy Kai on 19th November 2012 at 24 weeks gestation, kai was in hospital for the first 6 months of his life having undergone heart surgery and surgery for two large hernias in his groin. In December 2013 Kai had surgery to remove a large cyst growing on his windpipe the surgery went well. Kai is still on home oxygen but just at night time now. This month he has began to sit up unaided and recently rolled over for the first time, je is such a happy strong little boy and we re all very proud of him and I just wanted to share this with you. I have given up smoking with the help of patches and Started going to the gym and this year will be running my first 10k in the great Manchester run for a charity call the sick childrens trust, who gave my daughter and her partner some where to stay near the hospital when Kai was recently in intensive care at Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital, without them I dont know what my daughter and her partner would have done. Doers anyone have any similar experiences? Thanks for taking the time to read this June X
