Mil dying, do I keep ds away from other babies to avoid infectious disease?

Arrangements are currently being made for mil to move from hospital to spend her final weeks at her home. We are going down to visit and stay with her later this week. Ds is 9 months old, should I keep him away from the baby parties and classes in his 'diary' in case he picks up a cold? Obviously I want him on good form visiting his granny and I also don't want him to give her a cold which I am sure is the last thing she needs. Not sure if I am thinking straight at moment. Is this mad or reasonable?

I think that if she id dying an infection will not make much difference I'm afraid. Sorry to hear you are going through this.

Hi, I am a doctor and work with terminally ill people. You really don't have to worry about your baby picking up a cold and giving it to her. It's totally reasonable for you to worry about this, but medically it is not important.
