Lost polar bear teddy in Cambridge today - hysterical child

Hello MN

I'm pretty sure i am posting in the wrong area but don't know where to put it being reasonably new to MN.

My DD lost her Polar Bear teddy 'hugo' today in Cambridge. I've tried Yo Sushi and TK's (no joy) which are the two places he was most likely left... although there's a chance he could have been left in the new trainer shop next to Karen Millen. If you happen to know the name of this shop can you please let me know?

Equally any advice on comforting an inconsolable child, that'd be helpful too Sad - i have never seen her so upset, she's had him since birth - 8 years....

I have had a look online but can't find anything similar. Would you like the picture shared on facebook in case anyone has found him? I have cropped the picture just to show Hugo, but wanted to check before sharing it on fb? Really hope you have some joy finding him tomorrow Smile

Phew, I was just coming on to say my friend didnt remember a bear being left but she would double check.

Glad that Hugo has been found safe and well, presumably they found him as they were tidying at the end of the day do tkmaxx tidy?!

lottieandmia · 01/12/2013 09:41

Thank goodness - so glad you got him back.

namechange74 · 01/12/2013 09:43

HURRAH FOR HUGO! These sort of things break my heart so I am so pleased there has been a happy ending.

namechange74 · 01/12/2013 12:23

thank you gotmygoat My husband and i were both so upset last night. Sounds ridiculous but he's been like part of the family and how we haven't lost him before now is a miracle to be honest (he goes EVERYWHERE with us) I'm going to buy DD a little 'hugo bag' for Xmas that she can put him in to avoid future catastrophies! oohhh the drama!

Ha no chance of that for Hugo molding - the lady asked me to describe him, then said, 'well i have a polar bear but he's grey' not light blue.... errr actually he is very dirty Blush

Oh I'm so pleased you've found him :)

My DD is 8 and if her special bear got lost we would all be very sad. I'm sure your DD will be very happy when he gets back :)

fridayfreedom · 01/12/2013 13:18

I got some name tapes from cashs with surname and postcode on,
I used to sew one onto the favourite cuddly toys so hopefully if they got lost someone could find us.

namechange74 · 01/12/2013 13:58

fridayfreedom we discussed this last night and he will be well and truly BRANDED when he gets home Smile

Hurray for Hugo's safe return. Grin

Rooners · 01/12/2013 16:21

You were lucky - as Molding says, they have a tendency to label anything they find and sell it! I once bought back my own sun hat without realising it was the one I'd lost the week before.

Luckily they did refund the money when they saw the funny side...

glorious · 01/12/2013 18:31

Yay for the safe return of Hugo!

And Grin at your sunhat rooners. I can imagine doing that myself!

incogKNEEto · 01/12/2013 18:33

Oh fantastic! Peaceful night ahead then Smile

EmLH · 01/12/2013 21:21

Very happy to hear this, hoorah!

magpieC · 02/12/2013 12:56

Hurrah! And as an aside Rooners how long after you bought it did you realise and how did you convince them it was yours??

Rooners · 02/12/2013 13:02

When I got home and couldn't find the original one! Blush

I rang up. They were fine really, I explained it was by Gap and they said they didn't stock anything by Gap at all, so it couldn't be theirs.

It was lucky really that I bought it before someone else did as it's an amazing hat.

Rooners · 02/12/2013 13:03

Oh and they could tell by the ticket that it was a sort of 'off the cuff' price tag - it wasn't like the usual ones.

magpieC · 02/12/2013 15:09

Lol well I'll make sure not to drop anything in there then!

PeterParkerSays · 02/12/2013 15:20

Rooners - I was in TK Maxx yesterday. Not only were two staff members tidying up, they were discussing how long they've had GAP stuff as they haven't previously stocked it, so you're lucky you got away with your hat when you did.
