Starting Mat Leave -cakes for the office?

So my last day at work is tomorrow and I was presented with money from a collection at my office today. For birthdays people are expected to bring cakes and sweets as a gesture in return for their collection.

Should I do the same as I'm having a baby?

Why not? No need to spend much but everyone likes cake and they'll all remember you nicely if you do

I did on my last day before I went on mat leave. It meant I didn't have to get myself some lunch ;)

Yes definitely, I did. They were really generous in the leaving gifts they gave me so I was glad to treat them.
