Bullying at school??

My 10 year old daughter, who now lives and attends school in Switzerland, from living in the u.k. has come home from school today and told me, her mum, that whilst playing in the park, one of the Italian boys, just a couple of months older but a wee bit bigger and stronger than her, chased her around the park and hit her, kicked her and she fell into a bush, thankfully no bruises or abrasions.

When I asked her what caused this, it turned out the boy was sitting on a swing and his feet were kicking her friend in the head? To protect her friend, my daughter kicked the bottom of the swing, which apparently caused him to chase her. This I can understand? However, he later told her 'I have not finished with you yet'.

The school has spoken with my daughter and made the boy apologise to her. However, should I know let this incident go and put it down to kids being kids? or ask the school for their interpretation or try to find out who the parents of this child is and try to speak to them? My opinion is that threats are totally unacceptable behaviour.

The boy is quite new to the school and trying to settle but I am unhappy with his threat, 'I haven't finished with you yet'?

I would love to hear other mothers comments on how they would deal with this.

Thank you
