We are getting pretty darn excited about the imminent approach of BlogFest on November 9, where we'll be hearing from Prof. Tanya Byron, Jon Ronson, Stella Creasy and Jo Brand - as well as some of our fantastic bloggers including Annie Spratt, Tanya Barrow, Jack Monroe, Rosie Fiore, Jax Blunt, Alison Perry, Sonya Cisco, Tanya Tirraro, Cassandra Parkin, Andrea Mann, MaggieWoodley and Gemma Regaldo-Hawkey.

This thread is for everyone who’s already coming, is thinking of coming (or wishes they were coming!) to gather, share tips and info – and generally get ready for the Big Day!

You can also join in the conversation on Twitter by following us @MumsnetBloggers. Feel free to tweet us with any questions – or, alternatively, you can email us on bloggers[at]mumsnet[dot]com.

See you on the 9th!

Is it too late to join the party? I've only just started blogging and would love to come. Are any of the workshops booked up or is everything still available? The two that I really want to attend clash with each other. Grrrr....

Hope to see y'all there. I'll be the billy no-mates in the corner with a rictus grin on my face.

TheTwisted I think there are still a few tickets available, at least that's what I saw earlier today. I don't think anything's totally booked out, they just wanted us to indicate what we want to attend so they have an idea for numbers.

TBH, I think most people are going to be on their own, to begin with at least. Blogging's a fairly solitary thing to do, after all! But from my experience the MN Bloggers seem to be the friendliest, funniest and fabbest ones shameless crawling to ingratiate myself ahead of Saturday

Mumsnet team: I reckon that if you ply us with a load of booze, that should help ease along the introductions Wink

I agree with Nell. Slip some Baileys into our coffee and we'll stop being nervous very quickly and become foulmouthed raucous cackling harridans instead

Is there such a thing as a list of attendees with blogs / twitter names etc? Either before/during/after? Might be useful to help us "connect" :)

And for those non-bloggers - don't worry, just 'cos we have blogs doesn't make us scary (I hope) - please say Hi if you spot me

janmary Jax Blunt/@liveotherwise has a list of tweeter bloggers who are attending and she's keen to add as many people as possible so that we can get in touch with each other ahead of Saturday.

I've just been given the most fantastic brief for the panel session I'm part of and I'm having loads of fun working on it. Can't wait for the day now!

This is me, btw. Hope it's okay to link...

Hey you lovely lot, I've been awol from this for a. It, have I missed details of where people are meeting up? .... Anyone getting a train from Peterborough way that morning? ... Too early for gin in a tin? ;)

Cardies it says a lot about me that I am giving serious consideration to gins in tins aboard my train at 0630. Perhaps I'd do better to wait for the return journey to Norwich?

But then, Buck's Fizz is traditionally drunk in the morning, isn't it? And I have treated myself to first class (only an extra £8).

It'd be quite rude of me not to get steaming drunk on the train down, wouldn't it?

Hello fellow Blogfestians. Anybody else coming from Brighton? I warn you, the trains are up shit creek on Saturday, it won't be an easy journey. And on that cheery note here is my intro post: joannemallon.typepad.com/joanne_the_coach/2013/11/blogfest-intro-post.html

see you all soon!

I have only just started blogging too. Had a massive dilemma about whether or not to go to blogfest but decided that I would go as a fraudster with only 3 blog posts to my name in the hope it inspires me. I have a few days left so maybe I can reach double figures before Saturday!

Right,I know this is a really lame question but what is everyone wearing??? This is my first blog conference and I haven't got a clue what to wear!

Report
JoanneMallon · 05/11/2013 21:18

From my previous experience at blog conferences, you will get everything from "I've been planning this outfit for 6 months" to "I slept in this" and both will fit right in. It honestly doesn't matter. It's not like everyone will go away and post judgy stuff on the internet about what people are wearing. Oh hang on...

Hi all - we thought your 'Please talk to me' badges were a fab idea, so we'll be giving out two types of sticker - one will say 'I'm new and a bit nervous', and the other says 'Happy to chat'. With a bit of luck this will break the ice and make it easier to start chatting to strange ladies Grin.

We're v excited about meeting you all on Saturday!

Hi all I am coming too - it will be my second blogfest - I had no idea what I was doing last year - this year I have just a little bit more.

I hope to catch up with people in person, old friends I met at previous conferences and new ones- put names and blogs to faces and all that jazz.

Looking forward to a great day - it totally surpassed my expectations last year so I anticipate it will be brilliant. V excited about Jo Brand being there too.

I blog at A Blissful Life //www.ablissfullife.co.uk and I'm @Blissful_Mama on twitter

See you tomorrow! Grin
