How do you lighten up your life?

What makes you laugh day to day? Sometimes I get to the end of the day and I feel the whole day has been a long gruelling slog.

How did I get the fun back in life - with my kids and my husband? DD is 2 and a half and DS is nearly ten months.

Would love to know how you guys make sure you've got some fun times.

i think its a case of notbeing so grown up or up yourself

laugh at farts - farts are funny - infantile - yes but funny - allow yourself to laugh instead of that instant look of distain - create rules around farting - in my house one has to quickly run ( much to the pleasure of the remaining family members)into another room, where upon they can fart and must loudly count to ten.

when your kids get older you can have farting competitions.

then theres the hidden sexual references for adults - any double entandres - slap his arse, knowing wink - that brightens up my day.

then theres the innocent fun.

welling - jump in a puddle - rain doesnt melt children fgs - so go get wet.

mud pies when did you last do a mud pie?

when did you last go on a swing in a park?

grass fight?
roll down a hill?
sit in the paddling pool instead of outside it?

and most importantly - dance

in your car - wh gives a shit who is watching - the chances of you seeing the person who reckons your a nutter as your going70 mph on the m25 is nil.

in the living room - does your 2 year old know what air guitar is?

shame on you - tis your duty as a mother to headbang and air guitar - tennis rackets and bats are acceptable too

dance in the kitchen - have a radio in the kitchen and dance in the kitchen

I agree with Custado - dancing is great and music when I'm washing up at night and hoovering I stick my mp3 player on. Tickling is another good thing!

We have a ritual in our house. Every night when we go to bed we spend 5 minutes laughing at the things the sluglet has said or done that day. Four and a half years in and she still makes us giggle every day.
