If I have a group on FB will my friends on my own account know it is mine?

I have a group...it's not active yet as I am not keen for my real friends to know it is mine...it's very geeky Blush but I do want to connect with other geeks!

My account asks me which profile I want to use...so I could sign in as myself or as the group....but if I sign in as the group will people know?

Have you created the group?

You can make the group private and secret, so that only people you invite can access the group, and only people within the group can see that it exists.

But that might ruin the point of the group, if you want other people to join it.

I don't want it to be private in that sense Trills I would like people to be able to find it...

If you want it to be searchable then your friends will be able to search for it.

You could probably make it so that posts you make on the group don't come up on their newsfeeds.

If you post as the page, it shows up on your wall, but that doesn't mean your friends will know it's your page, just that you liked the page.

What's it about? ::nosy::

I done this. Again I didn't want people to know, so I set up a new page and added friends to it that way

There's also the difference between "a Page" and "a Group".

LandOfSpareOom · 28/06/2013 10:10

I can't help, I just want to know what geeky thing it is!

Tee2072 · 28/06/2013 10:31

Yes, good point Trills.

Just to make things more complicated :)
