Just want to share this with you. I went to a fantastic baby group last week at St Pauls Church Norton lees. Everyone was so friendly and it was particularly good for newborns, as there was a separate area for them away from the toddlers so they couldn't be trampled on. Its also NCT affiliated. If you fancy giving it a go, its on a Wednesday 10 - 11.45, term time only. Its £2 but you and baby/toddler get a snack.
